Irish Fly Craft is a professional fly tying business featured at shows, exhibitions and fairs around the country.
Jimmy Tyrrell writes about flies and fly tying for The Irish Angler Magazine, Countryside Ireland and The Irish Times newspaper. He is also a passionate teacher who loves sharing his expertise on Fly Fishing.
Fly tying has been a passion of mine for a very long time. I tie flies every day, even if it is only a couple to take fishing with. I get great satisfaction teaching the art of fly tying.
I'm a fully qualified Member of APGAI Ireland and a member of the Partridge Hook company Pro team. I also write articles on flies and fly tying for both the Irish Angler magazine, Countryside Ireland and the Irish Times newspaper. I have frequently contributed to "Casting with Ceri", a podcast well worth listening to.
I do fly tying exhibitions at shows and fairs around the country and also run fly tying classes. I love tying patterns of my own and experimenting with them, over the years I have come up with some very nice patterns that catch fish for me. Another Fly Fishing expert I've collaborated with is Glenda Powell. She is a top class fishing instructor and great friend.
If there is any help or advice I can pass on to you I would be only to glad to help. Perhaps you could pass on a few tips to me I love swapping ideas with people and learning different techniques.
I carry a good stock of flies but if I don’t have what you need in stock I will gladly tie them for you.
Selling flies all over the world, I have built up a network of people. "Thanks!" to some of the fishermen on the Irish Fly Fishing teams who I have tied flies for.
